To get to Es Copinar you must take the main road towards La Mola, and when the road begins to take a slight slope, take the detour to the right that indicates the presence of two hotel complexes in the area, RIU and Maryland.
Once on that detour, you no longer can be lost.
You continue straight on the road that takes you to the sea and from there, and to the left side, is the section of Migjorn beach known as Es Copinar.
If your intention is to go directly to the Kiosko de Bartolo, you will have to walk from this position, or take your car or motorcycle and pass in front of the RIU reception, following the dirt road that you will find to the left of the Rte. Casablanca and follow the indications until you take the detour to the right that will take you to the small parking lot in that area of the beach.
In fact, this last route is the one that Google Maps usually gives by default.
Es Copinar is a narrow beach, where the sand space on which to lie down is not excessively large if we compare it with other areas of Migjorn.
In the same way, it is a beach that from one summer to another can undergo radical changes in appearance since winter storms greatly condition that it has more or less sand, with the arrival of summer.
Es Copinar has lived for years with an impressive amount of sand to summers where it was rather scarce ….. let’s see how you find it after reading this entry on our website.
The beach covers the front of two of the largest hotel complexes on the island and despite the fact that in Formentera no beach is private, if it is true that you get the feeling that the right side of Es Copinar may “belong” to the hotel guests ….. on the other hand, the left part of it is much more “wild”.
Es Copinar beach has almost all the service possibilities that you can find in the best beaches of Formentera, and all this in the small area of coast that this beach at the southern end of Migjorn covers.
You will find two small rental concessions for hammocks and umbrellas in case you are one of those who does not prefer to lie on the sand.
On the beach of Es Copinar there is a watchtower and the presence of lifeguards who are monitoring the possible incidents that occur throughout the day and until sunset, which is usually the time when their working day ends during the summer months.
Es Copinar also has a sailing school where you can practice the various modalities they offer, as well as the rental of Paddel Surf boards, in an environment of crystal clear waters.
In Es Copinar you will find a single restaurant, with the same name as the beach, and it also has one of the most photogenic and well-known kiosko in Formentera, Kiosko de Bartolo …… and a little further you will find Es Caló des Mort .
So if the wind direction blows offshore in Migjorn, consider a visit to Es Copinar during your holidays in Formentera.

I discovered the island in 1972 when my parents, aboard the mythical Joven Dolores, took me on vacation from Ibiza for the first time, and it was love at first sight that has only grown stronger over time, making Formentera my place of residence for many years now.
