How to reach Levante beach?

It should be noted that, like Ses Illetes, Levante (or Llevant beach) is part of the Ses Salines Natural Park and that, in summer season, its access by motor vehicle is regulated.

Access on foot or by bicycle is free and with no limit on the number of accesses, but both motorcycles and cars must pay a fee to access Levante Beach. Quads, as we mentioned earlier, are completely prohibited from entering the Natural Park.

To access Levante beach, you will normally do so in the same way as when accessing Ses Illetes, that is, through the access control barrier on the main road.
But if you are in Es Pujols and you want to get there on foot, you can do it by skirting the coast and passing first through Ses Canyes beach, then through Sa Roqueta beach to finally reach Levante Beach.
It is a long walk but it will let you to discover hidden corners on this coast of Formentera.

Features

Despite its proximity, Levante beach is very different from Ses Illetes beach. In Levante, unlike in Ses Illetes, the slope in the water is very steep and it gains bottom very suddenly.

The main feeling when going into the sea at Levante beach is to be swimming in the open sea, and it is not a wrong feeling because the currents are very present on this beach in Formentera and bathing must be done with great caution.

Levante beach shares the northern end with Ses Illetes beach in Es Pas des Trucadors, which can be reached by following the beach line heading north.

Facilities in Levante beach

Levante beach has most of the beach services that the best beaches in Formentera have, so if you decide to spend the day on this beach, we don’t think you will be missing any facilities.

The beach has, in different sections of it, sunbeds and umbrellas rental, so, if that is what you are looking for, you should not have a problem finding them.

In the same way as in the most visited beaches of Formentera,  Levante beach has a watchtower and a presence of lifeguards throughout the summer season, since, we mentioned before, it is a beach where you´ll have to bath with special care for the currents that are formed.

Levante beach does not have a beach bar, but it does have two restaurants with bar service where you can taste the menu or simply go buy a drink.

Advice when visiting Levante beach

Very often, especially in the high season, access to the car park, is impossible, as the park lot is complete.

It is very common for the parking controllers to direct the vehicles towards the parking areas that are left empty.
If your intention is to go to one beach or another, make sure you are not diverted to the one you are not interested in going to.
As I mentioned at the beginning of this information block, the two beaches are very different and the winds affect them in the opposite way.
When the wind blows from the East, the ideal is to go to Ses Illetes and when the wind blows from the West, the ideal is to go to Levante.
