Formentera, June 4th, 2025

From June 5th to 8th, Formentera will host the eleventh edition of its now well-established jazz festival. This year, the Formentera Jazz Festival promises not only a diverse musical lineup but also a cultural experience that will spread across various spots on the island.

With new locations such as the artisan market in La Mola and the heart of Pilar de la Mola, the festival is taking a clear step toward decentralizing its offering, bringing music to emblematic corners of Formentera’s landscape.

The lineup brings together artists from different backgrounds and styles, ranging from classic jazz to fusions with soul, electronic music, afrobeat, and Latin rhythms. A carefully curated selection that reflects the richness and vitality of today’s jazz scene.

This event is much more than just music: it’s a celebration of movement, cultural fusion, and the free spirit that defines both jazz and Formentera itself.

A Program for All the Senses

The Formentera Jazz Festival 2025 lineup stands out for its diversity and artistic level. Established names and fresh new talent will come together on unique stages, offering concerts full of energy and creativity.

Among the confirmed artists are:

New Locations, New Sensations

For the first time, the festival will expand beyond its traditional venues. The artisan market in La Mola and the town center of Pilar will be key spots in this year’s edition, featuring concerts and activities that invite the audience to experience music from new perspectives.
The goal is to decentralize the experience and bring it closer to new audiences, strengthening the connection between music, art, and Formentera’s unique landscape. Each festival space becomes a meeting point between artists, audience, and surroundings.

A Festival with a Mediterranean Soul

Since its inception in 2015, the Formentera Jazz Festival has maintained an intimate and authentic essence. Year after year, it has grown in scope and quality without losing its identity: an experience rooted in respect, community, and creative freedom.
The 2025 edition reaffirms that vision with an inclusive and enriching program. The island, with its serene beauty and unique energy, remains the true star of this musical gathering.

And in the words of Maxwell Moya Wright, director of the Formentera Jazz Festival, everything that happens on the island during these days is more than just a cultural event; it’s a way of living art. Each edition is a tribute to shared life in Formentera, to the blend of sounds, and to the freedom of expression that jazz represents.
This year’s fusion of styles and origins reflects Formentera’s cosmopolitan spirit — an island that welcomes, inspires, and pulses to the rhythm of every note.

I’m Ramón Tur, the person behind everything written and photographed on this website about Formentera. I discovered the island in 1972 when my parents, aboard the mythical Joven Dolores, took me on vacation from Ibiza for the first time, and it was love at first sight that has only grown stronger over time, making Formentera my place of residence for many years now.
