A practical and convenient alternative for managing parking in the blue zones of Formentera is the Flowbird Parking application. This free app allows you to obtain your parking ticket directly on your mobile phone, eliminating the need for unnecessary paper tickets. Additionally, it offers the convenience of paying with a credit card instead of physically at a parking meter, adapting to your needs whether you are in one area or another of Formentera.
The process is simple: download the application on your smartphone and register. By entering your car’s license plate, you will automatically receive the parking ticket on your mobile phone. This way, you avoid the need to go back to the street to search for a parking meter. Additionally, you will receive notifications when your parking time is about to expire, giving you the opportunity to extend it directly from the application.
The Flowbird Parking application is available for download on the Play Store and App Store using the QR codes provided below or simply by clicking on any of them.
If you receive a fine for not complying with parking regulations, it’s important to understand how to proceed to resolve the situation.
Here are some guidelines to help you manage parking fines in Formentera:
Cancellation of Fines for Exceeding Time Limit:
If you’re fined for exceeding the permitted parking time in the blue zones, you have the option to cancel the fine within 60 minutes of receiving the infringement notification. Simply go to any parking meter and click on the designated number on the screen for this operation. With a payment of €3, you’ll be able to cancel the fine permanently.
Payment Methods for Final Sanctions:
If more than 60 minutes have passed since the notification of the infringement, the sanction is final, and you won’t be able to cancel it at the parking meter.
Online Payment: Visit the website of one of the two designated banks (Caixabank or Banco Sabadell) and enter the lower number of the barcode on the fine. If you make the payment within the first 7 days, you will receive a 50% discount.
Payment at an ATM: You can also pay the fine at an ATM of Banco Sabadell or CaixaBank. If you choose this option and make the payment within 7 days of receiving the fine, you will need to use the barcode that appears on the infringement, and you can benefit from the 50% discount.
In-Person Payment at the ATIB Office: The fine can also be paid at the ATIB office located in Sant Francesc, at Calle d’Eivissa 9. In this case, the maximum period to obtain the 50% discount is 20 days.
