Parking Fees at Ses Illetes
Formentera, April 30, 2025
Accessing the beaches of the Ses Salines Natural Park by car or motorbike —including the famous Ses Illetes and Levante beaches—will be more expensive in the summer of 2025. The Consell of Formentera has approved an increase in the rates for visitor vehicles, applicable from May 10 to October 15. This extends the regulation period by 15 days compared to previous years, when it ended on September 30.
The measure aims to reduce the overcrowding that has occurred in past seasons, particularly at the end of summer, when the volume of vehicles at park entrances and parking areas reached critical levels.
The increase was approved by the Governing Board on April 11 and was officially published in the Official Gazette of the Balearic Islands (BOIB) on April 26, confirming the new prices for 2025.
The goal is to ensure a more orderly experience that aligns with the limited vehicle capacity of the beaches within the Ses Salines Natural Park. It also aims to protect visitor safety and ensure emergency services can access the area if needed.
The cost of parking at Ses Illetes depends on the month and the type of vehicle:
• May 10 to June 15: €5 for cars and €3 for motorbikes
• June 16 to July 15: €6 for cars and €4 for motorbikes
• July 16 to August 31: €7 for cars and €5 for motorbikes (peak summer rate)
• September 1 to 15: €6 for cars and €4 for motorbikes
• September 16 to 30: €5 for cars and €3 for motorbikes
• October 1 to 15: €5 for cars and €3 for motorbikes
Fees are charged between 9:00 AM and either 5:00 PM or 9:00 PM, depending on the specific parking area and date. It’s important to note that Formentera residents are exempt from these fees.
As a Formentera resident, I encourage you to plan your visit to Ses Illetes in advance. While the experience of enjoying its crystal-clear waters and white sand is absolutely worth it, accessing the beach by car or motorbike can be stressful during peak season due to long queues.
If possible, try to arrive early, especially in July and August, to find parking more easily and avoid long waits. Another great option is to rent a bicycle or electric scooter—it’s a sustainable and more affordable way to explore the beaches of the Natural Park, and you’ll enjoy the surrounding landscape much more.
And remember that Ses Illetes and Levante are part of a protected environment, so treat them as such. Avoid leaving litter, follow all signage, and help preserve this special corner of the Mediterranean for everyone—both visitors and Formentera residents.
