To get to Es Codol Foradat beach you have to take the main road, towards La Mola until you find, at kilometer 8.9, the detour to the right that indicates it.
From that point and until you find the beach, you must go following the indications on the dirt and dust road crossing cultivated fields with fig trees and vines until you find the seashore, so take into account details of this type before deciding what type of vehicle to rent on your holidays in Formentera since if you are not an expert driver on two wheels, these types of roads can be a tricky.
Once you get to the area of Es Codol Foradat you will see that you can choose between two parking areas.
Es Codol Foradat, unlike other beaches in the Migjorn area, usually maintains, year after year, a large amount of sand on which to lie down to sunbathe.
In the same way, several areas of rock break the monotony of the sand, giving the beach several different spaces to choose from where to enjoy the day at the beach.
Es Codol Foradat gets its name because one of the large rocks in the middle of the beach has holes at its base and, if it is visible, you can walk from side to side through the gap that has been formed over the centuries .
But the truth is that this hole is only visible in extraordinary years where the sand has moved, due to storms, to other areas of Migjorn.
Such is usually the amount of sand that the beach has, that most of the rock and its hollow are buried under tons of fine white sand.
The beach has only one restaurant that also offers a bar service, but it is the only option to eat or drink if you choose this beach in Formentera since, in the vicinity, there is no kiosko or other beach bar.
In the same way, Es Codol Foradat does not have a permanent lifeguard service on the beach so, although it is not a dangerous stretch of beach, we must swim and bathe with the utmost caution and avoid unnecessary risks.
In the central part of the beach you will find hammock and umbrella rentals and this area of Migjorn does not have the rental of any type of water activity nor does it have public toilets.

I discovered the island in 1972 when my parents, aboard the mythical Joven Dolores, took me on vacation from Ibiza for the first time, and it was love at first sight that has only grown stronger over time, making Formentera my place of residence for many years now.
