Formentera, June 24, 2025

Formentera once again embraces creativity, identity, and sustainability with a new edition of its Fashion Show. This year, the event will take place on Friday, June 27 at 10:00 p.m. in Plaça Europa in Es Pujols, under the theme “Terra meua.”

Now in its 17th edition, the show brings together thirteen brands and designers who are deeply connected to the island’s essence. This annual gathering has become an unmissable event on the summer cultural calendar, where fashion, landscape, and community are uniquely intertwined.

The event aims to promote a sustainable economic model and highlight the homegrown talent of the island. The runway provides a platform for creations filled with artistic sensitivity, environmental commitment, and deep emotional resonance.

Open to the public, the event welcomes residents, visitors, and fashion professionals every year, reinforcing Formentera’s role as an ideal setting for fashion, creativity, and inspiration. I’ll now summarize the collections of each participant in the show.

Hippie Shop Formentera & Otra Vez

Hippie Shop Formentera presents a joyful and colorful collection inspired by the 1990s, using lightweight, comfortable fabrics designed to offer a feeling of absolute freedom. Under the motto “Less than a bikini,” the pieces are meant to be felt, not just seen. In collaboration with Otra Vez, handmade leather jackets and boots are added, creating ensembles that exude strength, character, and a unique, vibrant style.

El Ikigai Designz

The collection “Threads of Resistance, Stitches of Peace” features handcrafted garments that invite reflection on cultural memory and the transformative power of fashion. Using symbolic fabrics reinterpreted through new colors and shapes, this proposal seeks to represent unity and hope, in a time where dressing can also be an act of peaceful protest and collective healing.

Marziposa Lingerie

Inspired by Greek goddesses and the natural elements of air, water, earth, and fire, Marziposa Lingerie unveils a collection celebrating femininity in all its forms. Designer Marzia Rota has created pieces that adapt to different body types, perfect for pairing with plunging necklines and sheer fabrics. These exclusive designs, made with delicate lace, tulle, and lycra, are crafted by hand with care felt in every detail.

Kavra de Formentera

Kavra returns with a collection symbolizing rebirth. Ivonne Ruíz, always inspired by the energy of Formentera, presents garments designed for women who live life to the fullest. Bold prints, unique fabrics, and a free-spirited vibe define a proposal that invites self-discovery, joy, and personal authenticity.

Pahiesa

From Formentera to the world, Pahiesa introduces a collection that captures the island’s natural essence. With organic fabrics, earthy tones, and the feather as a symbol of freedom, these pieces evoke the island landscape. Each garment is carefully crafted with handwoven cotton and prints that turn every outfit into a statement of conscious identity.

Jesús Costa

Marking his 30th anniversary, Jesús Costa celebrates three decades of design inspired by the simplicity and beauty of the Mediterranean. This collection combines 100% organic materials with plant-based dyes, following a handcrafted process that prioritizes sustainability. Soft textures and natural colors reflect the freshness of the island’s most authentic style.

Flor del Nilo

Under the title “Blau” (Blue), Flor del Nilo presents a collection that explores the symbolism of the color blue: the sea, the sky, serenity. Using silk, cotton, and hand embroidery, the garments fuse artisanal tradition and ethnic influences, all within a bohemian Mediterranean atmosphere. This collection turns blue into a true mark of identity.

Coser i Cantar

The collection “Aman la Casa” by Fabiana Schulz is made from vintage textiles such as tablecloths, sheets, and doilies, which are given new life as unique garments. Each piece preserves the beauty of the original material and evokes past stories. The project includes a collaboration with artist Papu Aruite and serves as an emotional tribute to the women who sewed with love and left their legacy in every thread.

OBI

Elena Hurtado celebrates 20 years of creation with a collection focused on the interconnection between nature, color, and fabric. Her garments, made with high-quality sustainable materials, are timeless and environmentally conscious. This thoughtful approach results in a style that embraces the earth while also highlighting the individuality of the wearer.

Simona Colzi

Simona Colzi’s creations bridge fashion and nature. Using natural pigments and prints made with real leaves, her garments reflect the authenticity of Formentera’s environment. Each piece is an expression of respect and celebration of the land, creating a direct connection to the soul of the island when worn.

Molly Mallone

Molly Mallone’s collection is born from designer Patricia’s connection to the island’s fishing heritage. She works with materials like nets, cotton, rope, and natural fibers in original combinations that evoke Balearic architecture. Her capsule collections, created in partnership with the espadrille brand Es Pelegrí, form a coherent, sustainable universe with a narrative rooted in environmental respect and mindful consumption.

Equilibre

Equilibre, by Bárbara Roversi, is a brand guided by spontaneous inspiration. Her garments are the result of a search for harmony amidst chaos, featuring an aesthetic that embraces imperfection and spontaneity. The fabrics and cuts reflect raw emotion, resulting in pieces that celebrate creative freedom and self-connection.

UR Calvet

UR Calvet’s “Terra meua” collection is a handcrafted jewelry line that fuses metals like brass and silver with natural elements such as sand, clay, and patinas evoking the marine landscape. Each piece is handmade and captures the spirit of Formentera with an organic, soft, and story-filled language. These jewels wear like the summer breeze and carry the soul of the island.

I’m Ramón Tur, the person behind everything written and photographed on this website about Formentera. I discovered the island in 1972 when my parents, aboard the mythical Joven Dolores, took me on vacation from Ibiza for the first time, and it was love at first sight that has only grown stronger over time, making Formentera my place of residence for many years now.
