Torre de Punta Gavina, like the rest of the defense towers of Formentera, was built in the 18th century, between 1762 and 1763
It has two floors and the access to it is located on the first floor to facilitate its defense against attacks.
It stands on a circular base and its body is frustoconical. It also has a sentry box and parapet and is a bit smaller than the Torre de Punta Prima.
Views to Ibiza and Es Vedrà
The Torre de La Gavina is located in a truly wild environment, with scant low vegetation, bush type, and in a space where stones cover the ground.
If you are a lover of ornithology, the area offers you the possibility of seeing the odd bird that in other areas of the island will be much more difficult to see or hear, and what to say about the views you have once you get to the Tower of La Gavina.
It is true that the visibility, the day you go, will mark that you can enjoy the panoramic offered by the situation of the tower but if your visit coincides with a clear day and low humidity, you will have the mountains of Ibiza and, above all, the imposing silhouette of Es Vedrá and Es Vedranell as faithful bodyguards of La Torre de La Gavina.
A beautiful photo that you can save on your Instagram profile to boast of having reached places in Formentera that many do not even know exist.
